Baked Onion Dip

This is a delicious rich, luscious looking appetizer, That does not taste at all like you think it will after reading the list of ingredients.  You can't taste the mayo or the Onions.   I baked it in an earthenware dish and it looked great.  Biggest problem is that it is very rich, if you eat much of it you will not want to eat later.  I made this up and three of us chowed down, after a bowl of soup no one was real interested in eating dinner,  we were full, so I suggest using this with a lot of people, halving the recipe, or serve it at other occasions then a meal.  Its one of those dishes that you can't stop eating.

1 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Cup chopped Sweet Onion
(for something different you can substitute
artichoke hearts, drained, chopped )
1 Tablespoon Parmesan Cheese
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1 Cup ( 4 ozs or 200 Grams) Swiss Cheese

In a bowl combine all the ingredients, spoon into a 1 quart baking dish and bake uncovered at 325 for 40 minutes.  Sprinkle with parsley if desired.  I took this from the oven about 1/2 hour before serving and it seemed about right.
