Groups
If you are a tourist, student, or have
just moved to Cuernavaca here are some groups to help you get acquainted with
this great town. The
places and groups are listed in no special order.
APAC -
ANIMAL
SHELTER
Here in Cuernavaca we
have an animal shelter that has about 100 dogs and cats looking for a good home.
The Animal Shelter at Calle ZempoalA 41 on the North East side of town.

St Michaels Library.
This is for Mexico a Very Large library of American Books, They have a nice
library from which you can borrow books (membership is 80 Peso's for 6 months)
and a very large assortment of paperbacks and hard covers for sale at very low
prices. Open Daily 10-12:30 Mon-Friday and Friday afternoons 4-6. Saturday
from 10:30 to 1. The library is located

Newcomers
Club
The Newcomers Club is open to all English Speaking residents of the community, regardless
of nationality, race or creed. The club provides info, activities and friendship

The Brady Foundation and Museum is located in the Museo de la Torre,
Netzahualcoyoti 4, Centro Open Tuesday - Sunday 10 - 6 Telephone 318-8554. City Tours
Cemanahuac Educational Community has tours of Cuernavaca and the surrounding
area on some Mondays. They are supposed to be weekly but not every
week. Call the center for more information as to the time and date.

Language schools offer trips and excursions. There is a small charge for
this but if they have room they will be more then happy to have you go along.
The schools also have large bulletin boards with flyers about concerts and
whatnot in the city.
Radio Club
There is a local amateur radio club
in the Cuernavaca area that consists of people active in amateur radio and also
short-wave listeners. We meet the second Saturday of each month at the Vivaldi
restaurant for a breakfast meeting, mostly social. Most of the participants
speak English. Many of the members are active in community events that involves
radio communications, Boy Scouts, and emergency preparedness. All are welcome
